The Alvord Public Library is planning a VIEWING PARTY for the SOLAR ECLIPSE (75% coverage in our area) on August 21, 2017! We will serve hot dogs, chips and drinks and provide safe-viewing glasses to attendees. Bring your own lawn chair, and umbrella for shade (as this is an open area for better viewing.) The party will begin at 11AM and last until the eclipse is finished.
The eclipse is scheduled to begin at 11:40 AM, with maximum coverage at about 1:10. Eclipse should end at about 2:40.
